Homemade Pudding Mix Recipes
These homemade pudding mix recipes make preparing pudding very simple and easy. They will keep for a few months in air tight containers.
If you make these homemade pudding mixes ahead of time, all you need to do if you want some pudding is add milk and cook the pudding for a few minutes...easy, quick and delicious. A bonus: no preservatives and/or ingredients you cannot pronounce.

Homemade Pudding Mixes: Chocolate
- 1 1/2 cups of white sugar
- 2/3 cup of cornstarch
- 3/4 cup of Dutch processed cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Homemade Pudding Mixes: Vanilla
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 2/3 cup of cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Homemade Pudding Mixes: Butterscotch
- 2 cups of light brown sugar
- 2/3 cup of cornstarch
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
Homemade Pudding Mix Recipes: Method
In addition to the mix of your choice, you will need these ingredients:
- 2 cups of milk
- 3/4 cups of the mix
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons of butter
In a medium sauce pan, pour the milk and combine well with a whisk. Place on medium heat and continue to mix with the whisk until the pudding thickens.
Remove from the heat and add the butter and vanilla. Serve hot or cold.
